What to do, and how to do it?

Welcome to I Am Mpowered, an application that allows YOU to contribute to a charity of your choice. All you have to do is vote on any of the five weekly charities posted. Which charity deserves I Am Mpowered's weekly donation? YOU have the power to decide.

Sounds complicated, but it's actually really simple.

Each week, an I Am Mpowered sponsor donates money to 5 different charities that they have selected. The weekly donation pool is displayed at the center of the screen. This pool increases every time you vote. For one week, the donation pool grows...and grows...and grows...and the total vote percentages associated with each featured charity updates. At the end of the week, the pool of money will be donated amongst the 5 charities according to final vote percentages. In plain English, that means the charities with the most votes get most of the money, as decided by YOU. For example, if a charity gets 60% of your total collective votes, it will get 60% of the weekly pool of money. A charity that only had maybe 25% of the total votes will receive 25% of that pool of money, and so on. Hence, the public decides who deserves what.

Polls are open from Monday morning till midnight on Sunday. Every Monday, there will be five different charities. Each day you have the opportunity to vote. We start you off with 5 free votes called DAILY VOTES, and you can add on to your available votes through EARNED VOTES. To acquire EARNED VOTES, simply click the Facebook or Twitter publish buttons that appear after you make a vote, and 5 extra votes will automatically be available to you. Keep publishing to earn more and more votes! Your EARNED VOTES can be accumulated and utilized for up to one week, which you can use as you wish for the week. At the end of the week, your EARNED VOTES will expire...but you can always start earning just as many, if not more, the following week. It would be silly to let your vote expire however...just click away at your weekly choices. The power is in your hands!

Donating money isn't as easy as it used to be...But how about donating votes? Each vote you make on Mpowered results in a charitable impact at no cost of your own...and you can track that impact through your GENEROSITY value! Your GENEROSITY value is the actual amount of money donated to charity due to your actions on I Am Mpowered. Your GENEROSITY increases with every vote...so the more you vote, the bigger your GENEROSITY value...and the greater your social impact!

Invite your friends and get as many people as you can voting on your choice...If other people choose other charities, you have the power to outvote them. Regardless of the outcome, you are making a real difference in the world...Every vote results in a tangible social impact, but we need you to donate your vote to make it happen! Everyone can donate a vote, can't they? We make it easy for you to do social good...but you make it all happen!
